A little Haiku I wrote this morning for a competition:
Childhood is fleeting
Cherish the special moments
Laugh, play, teach and love

This is a work in progress but captures today for me….
A room so familiar
Day after day
Year after year
Emotions peak and fall
From the glories of success
To the pits of resentment
Memories formed
Last a lifetime
There is nothing more
Time to leave
Walk out the door
I’m particularly fond of the Japanese Tanka poetry. Creating an image in a short space of time. While the traditional poetry was often used in the Imperial Courts and between courting couples I find it is a superb way of capturing modern life and emotions.
Today we went to the coast. The sun was shining but it was freezy cold!
Sharing a moment
On this glorious spring day
April in Yorkshire
Lulling waves caress the sand
Winds roar and we hold on tight.
