outside my back door a canvas of snow,
its stark beauty blinding
I cry, heart bitten by the
flakes that dance
sweeping, striking, falling hard.
flat on the floor,
I’m done.
Month: February 2018
Tonight I sleep alone
Listening to that song, and another
aching for those nights we
no longer
have
longing for a whisper
a touch
still.
Haiku 69
crushed leaves underfoot
dead wood within the forest
a crack echoes free
Waiting to walk home
A sea of voices roaring, crashing as they speak. I wait for the silence. For the tide to go out. Washing away the debris. The noise in my head. Waiting for the heart beat. To walk with you alone.
A name I can’t speak
Not forgotten. It lives on my lips. In the edge of each thought. Like a paper cuts sting. The carve of your name.
Full moon
Some nights I miss you. Some nights I don’t care. The moon smiles wide in the darkness. Full of you tonight.
