Photo from the past
The days before you left
You weren’t smiling
In the gardens
Hadn’t for a while
Erase the clouds
Soft glow and
Gradient blue sky
I can make you smile.
In this photo at least.
Month: October 2014
Morning jigsaw
Pink and yellow
The glimpse of an eye
Piecing together the picture
With you by my side
Haiku 14
Sofa still warm, your
Impression in the fabric
Nestle in your shape
Bus stop
Sitting at the bus stop
Waiting to get to you
Rain drips through
The leaky roof
Each drop saturates
My sodden skin
Washed out before I arrive
dripping in your doorway
puddles on the porch
Step into your embrace
Unsure
Waves growl
In the winter sea
Surf rushes to greet you
Shying away
From your touch
Lapping at your feet
Unsure whether to stay
Or go.
Spiral
Circles in the carpet
Spiral in your mind
whirlpool of confusion
Blind to reality
Close your eyes
Shut it out
Hold on tight
Ride the vortex
of disillusion
Stones
empty ocean
blanket sea
skimming stones
out to nothing
one, two, three
skip and turn
dance on water
twist and dive
swallowed by the deep
Dunes
Running through the sand
Weaving in the dunes
Carefree afternoon
Flying in the wind
Haiku 13
Fresh dew on the leaf
A tear drop rolling, falling
Gone in an instant
Ruins
Saturday afternoon
Out in the ruins
We sit
Side by side
Falling apart
Mocked by
Our surroundings
No fix this time.
